A Day in The Life

Wake, school, fitness, relax, study, sleep, and repeat. Cadets maintain a full and regimented schedule that is work/life balanced. Follow one of our cadets around campus to get a glimpse of what it’s like on an average day at West Point.

What's up, guys? My is Connor Eckhert. I'm a computer science major here at West Point. I'm going to show you what it's like in the day of life of a cadet. Life here at West Point is a little different than the average college campus. [trumpet sounding]

It's been a crazy morning. It's the first chance I've had to come back to my room. I'm actually going to get some quick studying done. It's time for my database systems class.

What's up?

The first floor is dedicated to computer science and electrical engineering. It's where I spent most of my time, and where my next class is. Class just got out. Now, I'm headed over to lunch formation, after which we all eat a mandatory meal in the Mess Hall. Usually, after class, I play flag football, but that got canceled today due to the weather. That doesn't mean I can't come here to Arvin to get a workout in.

I'm done working out. I'm going to head over to dinner in the Mess Hall, I'm stoked because we're having Stromboli's. After dinner, we have some time to ourselves. I just need to stop by my TAC and talk to him about branching.

Now I got some free time so I think I'm going to play some Xbox. Technically, it's lights out at 11:30, but I got to stay up and study so I'm going to leave this light on. Nice. Done. Life as a cadet is a mixed bag. We have some hard times, we have some fun times. But, honestly, I love it here. You should really come check it out. Thanks for following me around. See you.
